Are you tired of leadership development advice that tells you to "be more strategic" or "improve your executive presence" without acknowledging who you actually are, as a leader? Do you find yourself caught between staying authentic and adapting to what your role, team, and organization demand? This interactive workshop introduces a research-based framework that helps L&D professionals understand and develop their own leadership identity. You'll learn to assess your natural leadership style, recognize the skills and behaviors you've mastered, and identify which capabilities you need to develop next, all without the deficit framing of traditional competency models. You'll discover

your "Leadership Board" and learn which "ingredients" to select and pair together to enhance your effectiveness. Most importantly, you'll learn to reframe your perceived "weaknesses" as "missing ingredients" or

capabilities you simply haven't explored yet. You'll leave with practical self-assessment tools, a personalized development plan, and a new language for thinking about your leadership journey. Stop trying to fix yourself. Start curating the leader you're becoming.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the two primary leadership board styles and the leadership "ingredients" they tend to naturally overuse, underuse, or overlook.

  • Explain the concept of leadership identity tension and describe how misaligned or overused ingredients can create internal conflict for leaders.

  • Analyze their own leadership patterns to determine which missing or underutilized ingredients could enhance their ability to influence and drive results.
