Leadership has undergone significant changes over the past five decades, shifting from a top-down, command-and-control model to a more inclusive and people-centered approach. Today, organizations are focused on attracting, retaining, and developing a diverse workforce, and leaders are increasingly tasked with creating innovative solutions to meet these goals. However, the pressure on leaders continues to mount, and middle managers, in particular, are feeling the strain. They have become the most stressed and dissatisfied group within U.S. organizations. Managers are expected to address daily challenges, enforce policies from senior leadership, maintain employee engagement, and handle conflicts—often multiple times a day.

The toll this takes on middle managers is concerning. Research shows that 71% of managers report feeling overwhelmed and stressed on a constant basis. In addition to these challenges, front-line managers are also expected to energize their teams, but they can’t do this effectively if they are running on empty themselves.

Does this sound familiar?

In this session, we will explore Positive Intelligence (PQ)—the mental fitness essential for enhancing well-being, performance, and overall effectiveness. Rooted in Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and Cognitive Behavioral Psychology, PQ helps us better manage our thoughts and emotions.

We will examine our brain’s natural stress responses and learn practical strategies for shifting our thought patterns, so we can respond in more regulated and constructive ways—ultimately reducing stress and increasing our effectiveness as leaders. We’ll delve into the Emotional Intelligence quadrants of Self-Awareness and Self-Regulation, both of which are key components of Positive Intelligence.

You don’t need to be a manager or HR/Talent Development professional to join this session. Everyone is welcome as we work together to strengthen.
